La Mirella is a family-owned farm inherited from Francisca Cubillo grandparents. She is the third- generation coffee producer but the first one to use an organic production system. The farm was certified organic for the first time in 2008 by Eco-Logica.
The coffee produced in this farm is milled in the Ecological Mill Las Lajas, were the milling is done with low water usage (honey process). The coffee is dried on raised, wooden beds and all the waste products (mainly coffee pulp) is used as organic fertilizer for the farm.
La Mirella farm is located in Sabanilla of Alajuela, part of the Central Valley coffee region. This was the only lot in the COE competiton that was certified organic and we take pride in being the highest bidder.
