The Puerta Verde family coffee estate is located in Ciudad Vieja, Sacatapéquez., in the reknown Antigua region of Guatemala. Puerta Verde’s name comes from a green door that, since the beginning of the family’s coffee adventure, jealously kept its richest soil and heritage.
The Puerta Verde estate is owned and operated by brothers and sisters committed to quality. It all began at the end of the 19th century, when the family begun exploring, the fascinating world of coffee. Today, the siblings feel fortunate in being part of the fourth generation of coffee growers nestled in a magical valley high up on the mountains, the valley of Panchoy, where, they claim, the best coffee in the world is produced.
The farm does not have its own wet mill, so the coffee is processed by estate-manager, Ricardo Zelaya, eco-friendly mill.
After three successive rounds of blind cuppings the International Jury gave it a cupping score of 88.40.
